This is the story of a teen that was struck in the mouth, causing a front tooth to be forced out of position. Dr. Shanard repositioned the front teeth and then wired them together for a period of three months. Unfortunately, the trauma to the front tooth was extensive enough to cause the root of the tooth to die. This required Dr. Shanard to perform a root canal with subsequent internal bleaching. The internal bleaching was performed to correct the darkened and damaged tooth. Dr. Shanard and her amazing ceramist used feldspathic porcelain on this case to construct six porcelain veneers that would match the natural beauty of the patient's teeth. The patient was delighted with the final result. One week after her smile was complete, Karsen won the Miss Teen Vermont pageant!! What a smile......
