"Karen did a great job on my teeth! She’s very thorough, answers any questions you have, and she’s always fun to talk with."- L.J. / Google / Mar 29, 2019
"Coming from CT, I had a beautiful smile created from a great dentist in New Haven several years ago. I moved to New Hampshire and looked for the best to take over care. It just so happened that my New Haven dr traveled from CT to VT specifically to have HER OWN smile created by Dr Shanard and highly recommended Dr Shanard. She was absolutely right. Dr Shanard is very meticulous in perfecting your look. She is extremely patient and caring. She and her excellent staff take the time to explain thoroughly procedures, and expectations. I can’t say enough about Contemporary Dental Arts"- L.G. / Google / Mar 27, 2019
"Dr. Shanard and the staff are amazing!"- R.M. / Google / Mar 20, 2019
"UPDATE TO EARLIER REVIEW:I have now been a patient with Contemporary Dental Arts (Dr. Lauren Shanard) for nearly three months. I am undergoing a massive amount of work - replacements of many old crowns, three new implants, and a redo of 20-year-old veneers - and while the cost is staggering (as it generally is for this type and quality of cosmetic and restoration work), I am confident that I am making a wise investment at the right place. In the past, I was never charged for temporary crowns (that was a substantial expense at this office which I did not expect), but I have also never had such beautiful provisionals, which I appreciated as the lab took a while to create my permanent crowns (and Dr. Shanard sent them back to be redone because they were not quite perfect enough, also much appreciated). Dr. Shanard is superbly skilled with her hands, aesthetically discerning, medically informed, and up-to-date on the newest dental techniques. She will not settle for "okay" and spends extra time to reach her ideal. She maintains a very good network of related specialists (including my equally excellent periodontist and endodontist, with whom cooperative communication has been exemplary). Dr. Shanard‘s entire staff operates with the same high standards, as well as thoughtfulness and respect for their patients. The sophisticated facility is immaculate. I am now about one-third of the way along in my treatment plan, and up to this point, the results have been exceptional - far better than the work I had done by Manhattan dentists during my many years of living in that city. ORIGINAL REVIEW:As a new patient, I was graciously welcomed into Dr. Shanard‘s beautiful dental office. I was neither rushed nor pressured, considerate accommodations were made for my comfort throughout, and all staff were so very kind and professional. Dr. Shanard is thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate and patient. She clearly explained everything to me in both a medical and easily understandable manner. My initial experience has been excellent and has given me hope in my complex case. I look forward to continuing the relationship."- E.S. / Google / Feb 13, 2019
"The new girl that cleans your teeth is fantastic! Penny at the front desk is always wonderful. I always have anxiety about going to the dentist and they are very understanding of that. Highly recommended!"- B. / Google / Jan 11, 2019
Full-mouth reconstruction may be needed if you've lost some teeth or have many teeth with large fillings that need replacement. You may also have teeth with widespread decay or teeth that are cracked, broken, or badly worn down because of bruxism (persistent teeth grinding). You may have dental ailments or even a hereditary disorder like ectodermal dysplasia (teeth that never develop), amelogenesis imperfecta (abnormally small teeth), or dentinogenesis imperfecta (stained or translucent teeth), which all require extensive treatment. You might choose to replace older crowns, or just want to enhance your mouth for better comfort or health. In more complex cases, your degraded gums and teeth might have caused a visible facial deformity, like sunken cheeks. Full-mouth reconstruction may revive the whole face once the appropriate amount of teeth are in place.
What To Expect
Following a complete examination of your gums, teeth, and bite, Dr. Shanard might suggest full-mouth reconstruction. Your personalized treatment program will be created depending on the condition of your own teeth, gums, TMJ (temporomandibular) joints, facial muscles, and dental bite. Dr. Shanard will discuss your therapy and sedation options, and her own recommendations in your appointment to make sure your treatment strategy fits your wants and goals. As soon as your treatment program is made, she will discuss exactly what to expect in your full-mouth reconstruction and schedule your appointments. In general, a full-mouth reconstruction will require a few visits to Contemporary Dental Arts. Dr. Shanard will schedule your treatments with breaks in between to let you recover until the next step is started.
After every treatment in your full-mouth reconstruction treatment program, Dr. Shanard will describe what to expect and how to care for your mouth. She can write a prescription for antibiotics or pain medicine that needs to be filled prior to your procedure. You may experience some swelling or discomfort following certain processes, such as implant placement that will make it difficult to eat, so a soft or liquid food diet may be best for you. After your full-mouth reconstruction is complete, you must keep your restored oral health with good flossing and brushing in your home. Yearly dental examinations and twice yearly cleanings in Contemporary Dental Arts will also be helpful. Throughout your examinations, Dr. Shanard can track the health of your own restorations, natural gums, teeth, and jaw.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Shanard can create your own treatment strategy according to your objectives, needs, and budget. She will provide you various choices to make certain that your full-mouth reconstruction is more affordable. Contemporary Dental Arts takes multiple payments, such as low-interest medical financing. If you've got dental insurance, then we will contact your supplier to confirm your benefits and estimate your personal costs.
When you're looking for a dental answer to your complicated dental problems using a full-mouth reconstruction, then schedule an appointment at Contemporary Dental Arts in Williston, VT.
